Brock Purdy was nearly perfect Monday night until he wasn’t. Kerby Joseph intercepted Purdy on two passes in a row. The first one didn’t count, with Brian Branch negating it with a 17-yard defensive pass interference penalty.

On the next play, Kerby picked Purdy on an overthrow of Ricky Pearsall, with Joseph returning it 26 yards to the San Francisco 43. Purdy is 19-of-23 for 288 yards with three touchdowns and an interception after three quarters. The Lions, though, used his one mistake for their first lead.

Detroit drove 43 yards in eight plays, with Jared Goff throwing a 4-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown on fourth down. The Lions lead 31-28.

Jake Bates made a 57-yard field goal on the drive before Joseph’s pick of Purdy. Goff is 23-of-28 for 272 yards and three touchdowns..
