Linda was born on Aug. 13, 1949, in Houston, Texas. Linda loved being around friends and family and had a wonderful sense of humor, spreading cheer everywhere she went.



She enjoyed traveling the world, going to the beach, and her once a week movie date with her eldest son. She always made time for her family and pets, especially her dog, Mickey. Linda will always be known for her warm smile and great sense of humor.

She was a longtime resident of Sulphur and will be missed by many. One of her favorite past times was watching football games, especially the Saints games. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth James Phipps; two sons, Dr.

Travis Andrew Phipps and Dylan James Phipps and wife, Kendra; four grandchildren, Kynleigh Phipps, Kollins Phipps, Dawsyn Phipps, and Hance Phipps; one sibling, Sandra Holmes; stepmother, Mary Ann Holmes, and niece and nephew, Natasha Granger and Sconnie Granger. Linda is preceded in death by one son, Jay Phipps; two siblings, Eddie Ray Holmes and Brenda Holmes, and father, Alton Ray Holmes. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.

m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.

m. with a 6 p.m.

Rosary on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8 a.

m. until 10:45 a.m.

at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur prior to processing to the Church. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Fr.
