Limestone Road Belfast updates as fire service tackle large blaze

Local residents have been asked to keep windows and doors closed

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an ongoing fire in North Belfast. The blaze was reported to the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service at 2:26am on Saturday, March 15. Crews are in attendance at the fire, which is at a commercial premises on the Limestone Road.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: "Nine fire appliances from Whitla, Cadogan, Knock, Lisburn, Westland Fire Stations are in attendance including an Aerial Ladder Appliance and Command Unit with seven officers also present. "Firefighters are utilising breathing apparatus, firefighting jets and foam jets to control the fire. We expect to remain at this location for a number of hours.



Supporting arrangements are in place to ensure we can respond to other calls in the Belfast area.
