At least one person has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Nottingham in the early hours of Friday, police have said. The A453 close to Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton campus has been shut by Nottinghamshire Police. A multi-vehicle collision took place there at around 01:45 BST.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area by the force, especially lorries, as they expect “significant traffic disruption” due to the incident. The closure is in place between Green Lane and Farnborough Road. Traffic is being diverted through Clifton village.
