Life-saving equipment stolen from seafront promenade

Parts of lifesaving equipment have been stolen leaving people’s safety at risk.

Parts of life-saving equipment have been stolen. Arun District Council has reported that the ropes attached to life rings on Bognor promenade have been stolen, rendering them useless. The council has warned people to take care near the water, particularly during bad weather.

READ MORE: Brighton man charged with terror offences over Hamas comments A spokesman for Arun District Council said: “Please be aware of danger and behave safely near the water especially as we currently have strong and rough waves at the moment. “These ropes are specifically designed to save life and are very expensive. We will replace them as soon as possible.
