Parkinson's UK, which is a charity that supports people living with Parkinson's Disease, runs a localised branch to support people in Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives and further across the district. However, the branch has been forced to launch an urgent appeal for help, otherwise it may close. The group need a new Branch Treasurer, whose role will include managing finances, to make sure that the work of the group can continue.
An ideal candidate would be someone who can work with numbers and offer up their time for the charity. There are around 5,657 people in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire who live with Parkinson's Disease, and the charity have said it is vital that local branches are kept open to support people.

"Without the support from people like you, these groups could be forced to close. Get involved today.
“If you can spare two or three hours a month, we’d love to welcome you to volunteer alongside the amazing people who are part of Huntingdonshire Branch - because with your support we really can make a difference." The Huntingdonshire branch runs a Winers and Diners night in St Neots, as well as seated exercise. They also run a café and an exercise class in Huntingdon.

'Lifeline' charity at risk of closing
The Huntingdonshire branch of Parkinson's UK charity is at risk of closing and has launched an urgent appeal for help from the community.
