Lidl to stop serving customers on these days for important reason

Lidl has announced no customers will be served during part of two separate days this week as it implements a change for an important reason. The budget retailer, which has more than 900 stores across the UK, is known for its low-prices and bakeries. The brand is also hugely active on social media, and in a new post on X - formerly Twitter - on Saturday, Lidl bosses explained something that will be marked in all stores on Sunday and Monday, November 10 and 11.

The post reads: "Lest we forget. "To honour the memory of the servicemen and women who lost their lives in conflict, we’ll be observing the national two-minute silence at 11am on Sunday and Monday. Please note that no customers will be served during this time.



" People across the UK and beyond will observe the silence at 11am tomorrow, Remembrance Sunday, and on Monday (11/11). This is a time to reflect on the service and sacrifices the Armed Forces make on our behalf. Armistice Day has been held on November 11 since 1919, with the silence coinciding with the time in 1918 at which the First World War came to an end and is observed at war memorials and in public places throughout the UK and Commonwealth.
