Capitol Hill, Monrovia – A group of lawmakers pushing for the removal of Speaker Jonathan Fonati Koffa held a session at the William R. Tolbert Jr. Joint Chamber of the Capitol Building on Monday, in the absence of both the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.

The session was presided over by Rep. Clarence Gahr (CDC, District #5, Margibi County) and co-presided by Rep. Sekou Kanneh (District #2, Montserrado County).

According to the roll call, 43 lawmakers were present, signaling their determination to pursue the Speaker’s removal. The session, held outside the regular chamber, underscores the group’s defiance in moving forward with their agenda. The only item on the agenda was a letter addressed to the Deputy Speaker, informing him that they had the majority needed to conduct legislative business, in accordance with the House rules.
