The singer, aged 31, died after falling from the third floor of an Argentinian hotel, Casa Sur Palmero. It was reported that Liam had been behaving erratically and needed to be escorted back to his hotel room prior to the fatal fall.

Subsequent reports suggest that the father-of-one had been acting 'erratically' in the hours leading up to his death. Hotel staff reported "an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol". Local media reports indicated that Liam had been seen "acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop' before he 'had to be carried back to his room.

Liam's body was discovered just after 5pm. Audio related to the case, obtained from the Buenos Aires security ministry, captured a call from a worker requesting help with an intoxicated guest.

The worker can be heard saying: "When he is conscious he is destroying the entire room and we need you to send someone" in audio obtained by The Mail Online. Alberto Crescenti, director of emergency medical services, spoke to local news outlet Clarin following Liam's death. He stated: "We verified his identity using the passport he had," before adding: "The team saw that he apparently had a fracture at the base of the skull.

After hearing about his tragic passing, tributes poured in from all corners of the globe, including those from Liam's celebrity pals. X Factor host Dermot O'Leary was among those who honoured his memory, posting a poignant black and white photo of the two together and writing: "The worst news. I remember him as a 14 year old turning up to audition on The X Factor, and blowing us away singing Sinatra.
