Liam Payne's life will be honoured in a remembrance service at the end of this week, three weeks after the singer fell to his death in Argentina. On October 16, the former One Direction singer died aged 31 after plunging to his death from the third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. The star had been in the country for a holiday and even attended his old pal Niall Horan's concert with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.

His heartbroken friends, family and fans paid tribute to the star with their own tear-jerking statements shared on social media. On Wednesday, after local authorities completed further toxicology and laboratory tests, his body was returned to his family , as confirmed by public prosecutor Andrés Madrea. His father Liam's father Geoff Payne has been in the country where his son died over recent weeks.

Sources close to the family have claimed that a "lavish service of remembrance" is being planned, with the event expected to take place at a grand cathedral. It is believe the serviec will be held in his hometown of Wolverhampton later this week, but the time and exact location has not yet been confirmed. The service will give family, friends, and millions of fans a moment to say goodbye to the beloved star.

It is unclear whether the One Direction stars will be attending. The source told MailOnline : "Liam will have a very big send-off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart. "Liam was so loved by so many people, there will obviously be enormous demand and so the service will necessarily be a huge affair.

" After details of his funeral emerged, fans all over social media urged others not to attend the funeral and respect his family's privacy. One user said on TikTok: "This is your friendly reminder that if you're thinking of going to Liam Payne's funeral to look at One Direction members. Don't," while one said on X: "A reminder to everyone thinking of going to Liam's funeral.

A few articles have stated how the funeral will be private and low-key so please, let his loved ones mourn in peace and privacy. Memorials were for the fans, his funeral is for the people who knew him personally ." Liam's funeral is reportedly likely to be private in order to give his friends and family the proper time to mourn the loss of the One Direction star.

No details have emerged about the service but the likes of Cheryl Tweedy, Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger may be attending. It is also unclear whether his former One Direction bandmates - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson - will be there to say goodbye to their old friend. RadarOnline reported: "Liam's funeral is going to be packed with A-listers as he was so well-loved in the showbiz community, and so many of them are so sad about his tragic death.

" It's said that his funeral will feature a "series of song tributes" as a testament to his love for music. His family reportedly wish to add in a special musical element into the service. There will be "a series of song tributes from some very big acts" at the farewell, a source claimed.

A source told Radar Online: "His family want to keep his farewell low-key and respectful, as it's what Liam would have wanted as he was so down to earth. But there are going to be a series of song tributes from some very big acts as he loved singing and making music until the end." Fans of the singer have already begun paying their respects outside St.

Peter's Collegiate Church in central Wolverhampton. They left flowers and sweet handwritten messages next to the Lady Wulfrun statue. Residents last month held at candlelit vigil for Liam outside his former school, St Peter's Collegiate Academy, near the Newbridge area of the city.

Fans have also asked for a more permanent landmark to remember him by. As of this Thursday, November 7, a total of 4,806 people have signed a petition calling on the council to consider building a permanent monument in the West Midlands. Respected Argentinian daily La Nacion reported that Liam's father was personally informed in a recent meeting with prosecution chief Andres Madrea that he could return to the UK with Liam's body two weeks after arriving in the South American country following his son's tragic three-storey hotel fall.

It stated: "All the documents are ready for the former One Direction singer to return to his homeland so a funeral can take place there next week. When Geoff Payne reached Argentina on October 18 he was told the repatriation process could take between four and five days, but because of the circumstances surrounding his son's death things took longer than expected." The Public Prosecutor's Office in Buenos Aires is still investigating the circumstances around the singer's tragic passing.

Police in Argentina investigating the death of Liam have reportedly conducted another round of raids on the homes of two hotel workers and a 'friend' of the singer. According to TMZ , law enforcement sources in Buenos Aires told the outlet that the raids were conducted on Tuesday night. It adds that officers also searched the hotel lockers of the workers and reviewed security footage from the hotel CasaSur Palermo .

The outlet reports that it's been told police believe the unidentified workers had contact with One Direction member Liam before he fell to his death from the balcony of his third-floor room on October 16. It claims one of the singer's 'friends' had also been identified due to text messages. It's reportedly being looked into who was involved in allegedly getting the singer drugs.

It's understood the 'friend' officers were looking to speak with wasn't present during the raid. Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads ..
