Liam Lawson's return to the grid comes after he was supported through his F1 frustration by partner Hannah St. John . The 22-year-old Kiwi has waited patiently for his opportunity.

After making his Formula 1 debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, temporarily replacing an injured Daniel Ricciardo for AlphaTauri for five races, Lawson returned to his role as Red Bull 's reserve driver despite impressing. He opened up on his annoyance at not securing a full-time seat for 2024 on Netflix 's hit series Drive to Survive. "It's tough knowing that I don't get the seat even though I've beaten a guy that's getting a seat," Lawson admitted.

"I don't know how to f***ing answer that honestly because it's meant to be me, so...

Obviously it's frustrating. There's a lot of things going on, to be honest. "I think emotionally and mentally, pretty draining yeah.

But to be honest, it's been hard to actually enjoy it. Until I have that security or having that contract for a full-time seat, it's hard to really enjoy it." Throughout these challenging times, Lawson has found unwavering support from his girlfriend Hannah.

The couple, who started their romance in October 2022, recently celebrated their second anniversary together. Despite being a medical student and dividing her time between California and London, she was frequently spotted cheering him on during race weekends. She made sure not to miss his comeback race at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend.

Lawson earned two points in his first drive back for Racing Bulls. He has taken over from Ricciardo for the season's final six races and is vying for their last 2025 seat alongside Yuki Tsunoda . Hannah, who is studying at Arizona State University, often provides updates from their personal life to her Instagram followers, who number over 30k.

She even offered a glimpse behind the scenes of their weekend in Austin. She has also accompanied him to Mexico City for the Mexican GP at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Qualifying is scheduled for 10pm UK time today (October 26), with the race set to start at 8pm on Sunday.

Lawson will be aiming to increase his points total. If he continues to perform well, there's a possibility he could replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull next year. Whether he secures a seat or not, Lawson can count on Hannah's backing.

The pair are virtually inseparable, as shown by Lawson's trademark kiss on the cheek in their selfies..
