On October 21, LG Uplus announced a new service using its AI 'ixi' that allows children to hear stories in their parent's voice. The "Dreaming AI Audiobook" beta service is being launched on LG Uplus’s kids' platform ‘Idlenara,’ where AI learns a parent's voice to read books to their children. Idlenara is a dedicated platform for kids, offering around 70,000 pieces of content tailored for reading, learning, and play.

Using the Dreaming AI Audiobook is straightforward: parents record a 3-minute story script via the Idlenara app, enabling ixi to learn their voice. Once the AI parent character is created, selecting a book allows the story to be read aloud in the parent's voice. Currently, seven books are available with the Dreaming AI Audiobook, with more titles to be added gradually.

LG Uplus anticipates that this service will naturally spark children's interest in reading and help develop their vocabulary and communication skills. Looking ahead, LG Uplus plans to expand the voice-learning technology using ixi, applying it not only to kids’ services but also across various fields. “We will continue to advance the Idlenara service by incorporating our AI technology,” said Kim Dae-ho, Chief Officer of Idlenara at LG Uplus.

"We plan to gradually increase the number of titles available through the Dreaming AI Audiobook to provide customers with distinctive value.".
