Letters to the editor: Don’t take Meals on Wheels of Boulder for granted

We urge Boulder residents to remember the impact of Meals on Wheels of Boulder and support us however they can, whether by volunteering, donating or advocating for increased local funding for human services. Our mission has always been supported by the kindness of our community, and today, we need that support more than ever. Let’s ensure that our community members can continue to depend on us for years to come.

Don’t take Meals on Wheels of Boulder for granted Since 1969, Meals on Wheels of Boulder has been delivering healthy, nutritious meals to our community members in need — over two million meals in total. For many, our daily visits are a lifeline, providing not only food but also crucial social connections. These moments of care and compassion help our neighbors maintain independence and dignity.

Yet today, Meals on Wheels of Boulder and other essential human services in Boulder County are facing significant funding challenges. The need for our services continues to grow, especially as our community ages, but financial support has not kept pace. This trend threatens our ability to continue providing the same level of care and services that thousands rely on every year .
