There were even fawning, alluring articles in glossy magazines, like Rolling Stone , with lovingly composed photographs showing off his beautiful hair and rock star looks, alongside a coverline asking, ‘Why can’t he be our president?’ He was touted as the saviour of us all, with his equally beautiful wife and her Yoko Ono-inspired, off-key singing style, promising us legal weed and the opportunity to party with him at Taylor Swift concerts and costume parties featuring a variety of ethnic costumes and bananas.
