Sleepers, wake! President Trump and Elon Musk are dismantling Social Security through the death of a thousand cuts, by firing thousands of staff, denying access by telephone, requiring appearances in person, closing a multitude of field offices, removing those in leadership positions, and more. This pending structural collapse will affect all retirees: republicans, democrats, independents, women and men of all races and creeds. Congressman John B.
Larson, D-Conn., a member of the Social Security Subcommittee, asserts that Social Security is insurance Americans have paid to fund retirement through a lifetime of work. After paying in for 40 or 50 years, we are owed these payments, it is our money.
The morally wrong impediments currently being created have got to be stopped now. In addition to contacting your senators and congressperson, we need to display our righteous indignation by taking to the streets for peaceful demonstrations. Failure to march in opposition to the harm being done will ensure the downfall of Social Security.
