LETTER: Penns Manor support staff seek fair contract after year of negotiations

Our union local, Penns Manor Education Support Professionals (PMESP), includes teachers’ aides, secretaries, cafeteria staff, licensed practical nurses, cleaners, custodians and maintenance staff. We invite our neighbors to wear green and attend the Penns Manor School Board meeting on April 9 at 6003 Route 553 Highway, Clymer, to support our fight for a fair union contract after more than a year of negotiations. We need to fully staff vacant positions and retain our veteran staff to provide the quality of education our students deserve.

Our cafeteria staff keeps students’ bellies full. Our nurse patches them up and looks after their health. Our aides make sure the kids who need extra help get it.
