Letter: Don't pardon those who harmed police on Jan. 6

I taught criminal justice courses at the university level for a good many years till retirement. I believe our system is very good one, and especially I support the frontline of our justice system, our police. If Donald Trump pardons those who killed or harmed police on Jan.

6, 2021, he will be doing a terrible act, legitimizing the murder of the very officers sworn to protect the Capitol on that day. If he does pardon those who harm or kill police, his pardon will be an act of infamy in American history. Trump should protect our police, not pardon those who do the police harm.
