Letter: Congressional members need to remember they work for constituents, not president

The president has no authority to tell the speaker whom to hire and fire from committee chairmanships, says Gene Foltz of Muskogee.

I think U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson needs to enroll in civics 101 to learn about the three branches of government.

The speaker runs the U.S. House, not the president.

The president has no authority to tell the speaker whom to hire and fire from committee chairmanships. Maybe it would be a good idea for Presential Donald Trump to sit in on those classes. Is Johnson so lame and weak that he doesn’t have backbone to do his own job as it is supposed to done? What a sad state of affairs we have in Washington, D.
