National Library Week, April 6–12, celebrates the many ways libraries draw people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. Libraries are essential to thriving communities. In Illinois, we are lucky to have local and state government support to provide unrestricted resources and services.
Rock Island Public Library invites the community to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime patron or it’s been a while, explore all the library has to offer. Our network of three branches and a bookmobile provides nearly 1,000 free programs per year for varying ages. Our collection of materials and services includes books, free Wi-Fi, STEAM programs, comics, hands-on art, community conversations, and more.
Public libraries ensure everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect. Furthermore, our “Library of Things” collection is one of the best in the state! Take a look at what you can discover: Golf clubs, pickle ball paddles, walking pads, and yoga mats for sports fans. Crafters and artists, check out sewing machines, wreath-making kits, and rubber stamps.
Electronic enthusiasts can check out multimedia projectors, 3-D printing pens, and even an EMF tester (in case you want to check your property for paranormal activity.) This National Library Week rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you're visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, Rock Island Public Library is here for you.
