Letter: Bad experiences with TSA at Tulsa International Airport

I fly about every two months and have a hard time getting through security despite efforts taken to make it easier, says Broken Arrow resident Cathy Eastman.

The story on Sept 8 ( "An inside look at the TSA: 'Incognito' passengers, customer service and mental gear switching" ) portrays Transportation Security Administration agents as smiling, polite, personable and helpful as people pass through security. This has not been my experience at the Tulsa International Airport. I fly about every two months.

I am white, female, 68 years old and about 118 lbs. I wear a waist-length spaghetti strap top and pair of snug yoga pants. I pay for pre-check but always have to go through the bigger scanning machine because I have a plate in my collarbone, wires in my sternum, aortic valve replacement and two knee replacements.

I carry pictures to show agents these conditions but still get a pat down most of the time on the exposed scar on my collarbone or the residual swelling in my knees. People are also reading..

TSA agents think they are sanitary by wearing gloves, but how many other people have already been touched by the same pair of gloves? I beg to differ with the federal security director for Tulsa International, who was quoted in the story: Going through security is not a good experience.
