Five Lethbridge residents face charges after police recently investigated a “problem property” in the city. Lethbridge police said Wednesday that a drug trafficking investigation began at the end of March after receiving reports of suspicious activity at a residence along the 1000 block of 12th Street S. In the area, there has been a “significant amount of social disorder, open drug use and property crime-related complaints,” police said in a Wednesday news release.

On April 7, police seized a “significant” amount of cocaine, as well as fentanyl and methamphetamine, during a search of the property. Police also confiscated weapons, including knives, bear spray, nunchucks, drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash proceeds of crime and stolen property, including a high-end bike worth over $5,000. Police arrested a male and female on outstanding warrants as they left the residence, and 12 people inside were taken into custody.

Five people face charges while nine were released without charges.
