Panic gripped the Mahanandi temple town on Saturday morning as a leopard was sighted near the Goshala. Devotees spotted the animal and its movements were captured on CCTV footage. Forest officials swiftly reached the scene to ensure the safety of both the leopard and the public.

Anurag Meena, deputy director of wildlife, informed that a cage has been set up near the Goshala to trap the leopard, which has been spotted in the vicinity for several days. He assured devotees and residents that there's no immediate threat as the leopard was sighted within the forest zone of the temple complex. However, he advised caution and urged people to avoid venturing into dense forest areas.

This sighting comes just days after a separate leopard attacked and killed a woman in Pachharla village, Sirivella mandal. That particular leopard has been captured and relocated to the Tirupati zoo..
