One of the best players in Miami Dolphins history died on Saturday night. He was 77 years old. Mercury Morris, a standout running back and kick returned for the Miami Dolphins, passed away on Saturday evening.

News of his death was shared by his son on social media. The former Miami Dolphins star was a key part of the 1972 team that went undefeated. The '72 Dolphins remain the only team in NFL history to go unbeaten from start to finish.

Morris, a third round draft pick out of West Texas State, played in the NFL from 1969-76. He spent most of those years with the Dolphins, making three Pro Bowls and winning two Super Bowls. Our thoughts are with his friends and family members during this tough time.
