LeBron James has made his admiration for Travis Hunter known throughout the Colorado star's phenomenal two-way collegiate career, with the 21-year-old eyeing the Heisman Trophy

LeBron James labeled Travis Hunter “Him” while the Colorado superstar was recently compared to Michael Jordan . As a two-way star for Colorado, Hunter is one of the biggest names in college football. After losing to Nebraska back in September, Colorado has won six of the next seven games to sit at 7-2 - and Hunter is a key reason why.

The 21-year-old is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy as he stars at both receiver and cornerback for the marching Buffaloes. Hunter has turned 69 receptions into 856 yards and nine touchdowns, while he’s also tallied 19 tackles and two interceptions. Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt - who believes Hunter will win the Heisman Trophy if Colorado reach the Big 12 championship game - heaped praise on the two-way phenom, comparing him to two of the greatest players in NBA history: James and Jordan. “I want us to appreciate Travis Hunter and what he's doing and what we're seeing,” Klatt said. “Because we're never going to see this again.

There comes a time that, as a sports fan, you've got to sit back and actually take stock in what you're witnessing.” He added: “I think a lot of us do that when we watch LeBron play, or those of us that got to watch Michael Jordan play. Travis Hunter is 1 of 1; he is the favorite for the Heisman Trophy by a wide margin.

The Los Angeles Lakers icon re-posted a video of Hunter’s touchdown in the game, along with the caption: “H.I.

M.” In the game, Hunter had nine catches for 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he recorded a spectacular high-point interception that unfortunately did not count due to an offsides penalty.

Colorado fell 13-0 down but quickly erased the deficit with a sensational second-half performance to win 41-27. Shedeur Sanders led the offense to another big showing, throwing for 291 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers. With his consistently elite performances, Hunter is aiming to become the first wide receiver since DeVonta Smith in 2020 to win the Heisman Trophy award.

He's also looking to be the first cornerback since Charles Woodson to receive the honor. Hunter and Colorado take on 4-5 Utah at Folsom Field in their next contest on Saturday, Nov. 16.
