LeBron James is back with ' Mind The Game' – and this time, The King has a new sidekick. After a successful run in 2024 with JJ Redick, James is teaming up with former NBA MVP and basketball mastermind Steve Nash for Season 2. The duo promises a fresh blend of basketball brilliance, candid conversation, and behind-the-scenes stories.

Listeners can expect the same deep dives into the NBA, but now with the added flavor of Nash’s unique perspective – both as a Hall of Fame player and former coach. Fans have had fun speculating about the new dynamics between James and Nash, as Redick took over the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job shortly after uniting with James behind the microphones. James addressed the rumors with a sense of humor.

“If he (Nash) gets a head coaching job somewhere, I had nothing (to do with it) – we did not talk about it beforehand,” James said with his hands up during the first episode. When the podcast first launched last year, James and JJ Redick brought a mix of in-depth analysis and playful banter, offering fans a rare peek into the mind of one of the NBA’s greatest players. But with Redick now coaching the Lakers, it was time for a change.

Enter Nash, whose basketball IQ is as legendary as his two MVP awards. Nash’s transition from player to coach was a natural evolution, and his expertise is sure to add a new dimension to the show. The first episode, titled 'Luka Dončić, Longevity, and Love of the Game' kicks off the new season with James discussing everything from his definition of success to the Lakers' new dynamic with Luka Doncić.

Nash doesn’t shy away from diving deep into what makes James tick – like the feeling of being "locked in" on the court and his approach to mentoring younger players. They also explore James’ strategies for adapting to the evolving game, particularly in his role with the Lakers' ever-changing lineup. In the episode, James opens up about how he’s learned to thrive with the shifting dynamics in LA, from trading for Luka to adjusting mid-season when key players join or leave.

James also shares a gem he picked up from NFL legend Randy Moss, and, of course, he touches on his sons, Bronny and Bryce, and how he’s guiding them through their own journeys, ensuring they don’t shy away from adversity. As the season unfolds, 'Mind The Game' promises to offer a deeper look at the NBA through the eyes of two basketball minds with decades of experience. With James and Nash behind the mic, one can count on plenty of thought-provoking discussions that go beyond the box score, delivering insights into the game’s ever-evolving landscape.

The season might have just started, but it's clear that this new chapter of the podcast is shaping up to be just as engaging as the last..
