Home | ‘Law in the pipeline to reserve certain jobs for South Africans’ African National Congress National Executive Committee (ANC NEC) member and Minister of Employment and Labour , Nomakhosazana Meth says that government is working on a law that will ensure that certain jobs are reserved for South Africans. Meth says that the National Labour Migration Policy amendment will give ministers the power to ensure that certain employment opportunities are ring-fenced for South Africans. Meth was speaking during a media briefing at the party’s NEC meeting, in Boksburg, East of Johannesburg, on Saturday.

“We have a lot of kids that come out of university that are very educated, qualified. We’ve got others that drop out of school, of course, others that are trained through different colleges, but there are soft jobs, jobs that are not a skill that are supposed to benefit in particular South Africans. But there is a law that is in the pipeline, the National Labour Migration Policy, an amendment that will give the minister some power to ensure that certain categories of jobs are enhanced and are preserved for South Africans.
