After another SEC weekend sweep, LSU took a trip to Thibodaux, Louisiana to take on the Nicholls Colonels. A five-run seventh inning lifted LSU to victory on Tuesday night as LSU won 5-3.Conner Ware got the start on the mound for the Tigers.
He worked three full innings and only allowed one run on two hits, zero strikeouts, and one walk. A throwing error by the pitcher led to the unearned run, making it 1-0 Nicholls. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Jaden Noot entered the game to pitch for LSU.
After retiring the first two hitters he faced, the Colonels got a single and a walk to put two runners on base before a bases-clearing double made it 3-0 Nicholls.As we headed to the top of the sixth inning, LSU had not been able to advance a runner beyond second base. If the Tigers wanted to win this game, that needed to change.
With two outs in the top of the sixth inning, Chris Stanfield walked to load the bases. That brought Derek Curiel up to the plate but unfortunately, he flew out to center to strand all of the runners.William Schmidt entered the game to pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Noot's final pitching stats were 0.2 innings pitched while he allowed two runs on two hits, zero strikeouts, and a walk. Connor Benge entered for Noot and pitched 1.
1 innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, two strikeouts, and zero walks. In the top of the seventh inning, LSU finally got on the board as Steven Milam hit a bloop single over the second baseman to cut the lead to 3-1. Jake Brown would then tie the game with a two-RBI single to make it 3-3.

Schmidt pitched four innings and allowed zero runs on zero hits, eight strikeouts, and two walks. With the win, LSU improves to 31-3 overall. LSU will travel to take on the Auburn Tigers this weekend.
