It’s the last chance for Bolton artists of all kinds to submit their entries for a town centre exhibition. Bolton CVS (Community and Voluntary Services,) which offers advice and support to hundreds of the borough’s charities and voluntary organisations, is running an art competition on the life of the town. The competition is part of the Bolton Town of Culture 2024 celebrations and the theme is officially “We Are Here”.
Local artists and creatives can submit artwork either as an A6-sized portrait, a physical piece or a digital portrait. Nine exceptional pieces of art will be chosen to be photographed and enlarged and displayed in the reception and meeting rooms of The Bolton Hub – CVS’s headquarters in Bold Street off Newport Street. This busy centre regularly attracts a large footfall and each artist will be recognized and identified for their work .
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 23 and the art opening event is on Thursday, March 27 from 4pm to 5.30pm. Already, the competition has attracted a wealth of local talent.
Commented CVS Chief Operating Officer Beth Warriner: “We are delighted with the quantity and calibre of submissions we have received so far. “We can't wait to have the artwork and photography up on the walls of The Bolton Hub, for all to see! “We'd really encourage any photographers and artists to submit their piece to us before the deadline to be in with the chance of being permanently displayed in The Hub." To enter, complete the simple entry form available on the Bolton CVS website at https://www.
