George Lapslie has won Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for March after his impressive showings for Bradford City. The January recruit has been key to recent results for the Bantams, bagging two braces at Valley Parade helping his side remain in a healthy position as the race for automatic promotion continues. He found the back of the net twice in the 3-0 win over Cheltenham Town before repeating the feat against Colchester United later in the month.
Lapslie said: “It is always nice to be recognised for personal achievements and I am absolutely delighted with my first Player of the Month award. “However, it would be unfair to ignore how the team has helped me, we are all together in the changing room and this award should be for everyone, we are all playing our part. "I just wanted to give my thanks to you, the supporters.
You have helped me and my family settle into the area and we are incredibly grateful for that, up the chickens!” His manager, Graham Alexander added: "We are all delighted for George to win this award. “He has worked extremely hard since joining in January and his scoring contribution to our results has been incredibly valuable to us.”.
