Two Langley teams were winners at the 2025 Pacific Coast Masters Curling Association (PCMCA) championships held at the Langley and Cloverdale curling clubs March 24 to 28. Team Craig Lepine, with Karen Lepine, Mike Pelech and Terry Parent won the Pacific Coast Mixed title, while Team Kevin Jeannotte, with David Conlin, Bill Tallentyre and Greg King won the Pacific Coast Men’s title. Both teams competed against teams from other PCMCA zones and based on their win-loss records and in particular their head-to-head games, emerged as PCMCA champions.

Combined provincial championships were won by other teams with superior win-loss records. This year’s championships drew 53 teams, divided into six categories composed of 60, 70 and 80-year-old curlers. PCMCA, for curlers living in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver lsland, was formed in 1963 to foster competitions for daytime curlers aged 60 and above.

Members have the opportunity to participate in Men’s leagues, Women’s leagues, and Mixed leagues, and may curl using either a conventional delivery or a stick delivery. Its primary purpose is to promote the sport of curling through fun and competitive events both at the club level and the provincial level for curlers aged 60 and above. PCMCA works together with the BCIMCA (BC Interior Masters Curling Association) to support and promote Masters club curling throughout the province.

Annual competitions are held to determine four PCMCA Zone winners. Zone winners advance to a combined provincial championship with the four Zone winners from the BCIMCA. The PCMCA is divided into four zones (Southern Vancouver Island, Vancouver Island from Nanaimo north, Lower Mainland, and Fraser Valley).

In playdowns, members of each team must all come from the same club. Competing teams enter the playdowns at the club level, with the club winner moving on to the zone playdowns..
