A Ferrari F40, owned by McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, was recently involved in an accident near Monaco. The incident occurred in early January while Norris was reportedly in Dubai celebrating the New Year, leaving him absent from the scene of the crash. The Ferrari F40, renowned as one of the most iconic supercars in history, was the final model developed under the direct supervision of Enzo Ferrari before his passing in 1988.

With only 1,311 units ever produced, its value has soared to millions, exemplified by the $3.3 million sale of a low-mileage example at RM Sotheby’s in 2023. Video footage shared on TikTok by Thanosofmonaco captured the moment the F40 lost control and struck a barrier.

Experts point to several potential contributing factors, including the car’s notorious turbo lag from its twin-turbocharged V8 engine and the absence of modern electronic aids like stability control, which can make handling the F40 particularly challenging. This particular model features custom Enkei wheels inspired by the ultra-rare F40 LM, adding a unique touch to the vehicle. This is not the first time an F40 has met misfortune in Monaco. Five years ago, another example was destroyed by fire in the streets of the Principality , underscoring the challenges of preserving such rare and high-performance vehicles.
