Prayagraj: With Maha Kumbh 2025 dates inching closer, mela authorities on Thursday claimed to have allocated land to over 4,268 religious, social, and spiritual bodies with an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 organisations expected to participate in the grand event. "Land allocation has been completed for all 13 akharas and their follower akharas, Mahamandaleshwars, Khalsa, Dandiwada, Acharyawada, and Khakachowk. The allocation process for Prayagwal groups and new organisations is expected to be completed by Dec 31," a senior mela official said.
Giving a breakup, the official said allotments includeed 19 for akharas and their sub-groups, 460 for Mahamandaleshwars, 750 for Khalsa, 203 for Dandiwada, 300 for Acharyawada, 300 for Khakachowk and 1,766 for other organisations. Additionally, 450 allotments were made to Prayagwal groups so far. The land allocation for Prayagwals began on Dec 12 and will continue until Dec 31.
Similarly, the process for new organisations started on Dec 16 and is set to conclude by Dec 31. With land allotment done now akharas and other religious and spiritual organisations are busy setting up tents and decorations in line with their traditions in the Jhunsi area. The Juna, Avahan and Agni Akharas have already entered the cantonment.
