Lanang MP distributes welfare aid to 43 recipients

A recipient receives welfare aid from Lau (left) at her parliamentary service centre.SIBU (April 11): A total of 43 recipients in Lanang received welfare aid from MP Alice Lau last month.In a statement today, the Lanang Parliamentary Service Centre said the assistance covered various forms of financial aid, including support for dialysis treatment, education, death benefits, disaster, newborn benefits, and other types of assistance.

Lau expressed hope that such initiatives would encourage more people to come forward and contribute to building a compassionate and caring society.She added: “Individuals requiring long-term treatment, such as dialysis and cancer patients, may apply for assistance at my service center annually.”Regarding the ‘Welcome, Lanang New Born!’ programme, which was launched in September last year, she explained that babies born on or after Sept 16, 2024, where one of the biological parents is Lanang voter, are eligible for Lanang newborns benefits.



In this regard, she urged parents to submit copies of their identity cards and the newborn’s birth certificate to the Lanang MP’s Service Centre within 90 days of the baby’s birth.For applications related to dialysis aid, educational aid, death benefits, medical aid, disaster relief, or other welfare assistance, Lau advised the public to visit the Lanang MP’s Service Centre at No. 2, Lorong Lanang 82, during office hours.
