To mark the 25th anniversary of the Diocese of Lagos West, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), the church will donate hospital equipment to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Reverend James Odedeji who disclosed this, yesterday, said the contribution was in support of the healthcare policy of the state government.

Starting on November 15, highlights of the weeklong celebrationinclude anniversary thanksgiving service at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Ikeja, on November 20 and a dinner later that day at Balmoral Event Centre, Sheraton Hotel, also in Ikeja. To mark the anniversary, the sod of a multipurpose, high-rise building will be turned at the site of the former Bishopscourt on Joel Ogunnaike Street, Ikeja GRA. On Tuesday 19th, the church will give out different items to people in the community.

The Diocese covers about 10 of the original 20 local government areas of Lagos State carved out of the Diocese of Lagos, the oldest Diocese in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on November 20, 1999. It has since taken giant steps that have turned it to the envy of other Dioceses and denominations in the country. The Diocese has remained relevant to the community as the various parishes run clinics at which members and non members are treated at little or no cost, food banks are stocked in the interest of the poor.
