The Lagos State Government has unveiled plans to train and equip over 5,000 youths with necessary digital skills by 2030. Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, in a statement by the Director of Public Affairs of the ministry, Mamud Hassan, said the programme was designed to empower youths with the digital tools they need to thrive in today’s job market. The one-week free digital literacy and skilling programme, according to the Commissioner is tagged Eko Digital Skills Initiative 2024.

“The Eko Digital Skills Initiative 2024 is part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to drive community skills development and empowerment and to position the state as a hub for digital innovation and excellence. He noted that the programme would close the gap between academic curricula and the demands of the modern workplace.



“The programme, which will kick off on December 2nd, 2024, will feature training in digital skills, entrepreneurial skills development, and core digital skills training using technology and tools in critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. “This initiative is a testament to the government’s dedication to driving community skills development and empowerment, ultimately contributing to the state’s economic growth and development”, Sule said..
