Towards achieving an equitable society, a non-governmental organisation, Elgee Info Media, in collaboration with other humanitarian organisations across Africa, is set to host the continent’s first and largest humanitarian-focused event, tagged Africa Humanitarian Fair in Lagos on January 24, 2025, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. According to the convener of African Humanitarian and CEO of Elgee Info Media, Mr. Samuel Akinyemi, the humanitarian fair serves as a platform for government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and foundations to provide much-needed support to underprivileged communities.

He said: “The event’s theme, ‘Empathy in Action: A Shared Responsibility”, underscores the collective effort required to address the continent’s humanitarian challenges. Unlike regular trade fairs where money exchanges hands for goods and services, the humanitarian fair will be a marketplace of compassion, where love is exchanged for acts of kindness.” Akinyemi further noted that the fair is not just about giving but connecting with others through acts of love and compassion with provisions of a variety of charitable services and donations.

“This is a call to action for organisations, government agencies, NGOs, and every well-meaning individual to unite and demonstrate their support for the vulnerable in our society. The event aims to foster collaboration among humanitarian organisations, raise awareness of pressing social issues, and inspire individuals and groups to contribute towards a more empathetic and equitable society. The programme will include distribution of food items, clothing and books.

There will be free medical checkups, treatments and provision of wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Join us as we create a ripple effect of empathy, transforming lives and building a brighter future for our continent. Together, we can make a difference,” he said.

The Africa Humanitarian Fair is a call to action for all Africans to unite in compassion and service to humanity. Attendance is free, and members of the public are encouraged to participate actively at their capacity levels, making a tangible impact on the lives of those in need..
