The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has introduced a monthly financial palliative aimed at providing relief to elected and appointed council staff.

The initiative is designed to ease economic burdens and promote productivity among the council’s workforce. According to the council chairman, beneficiaries of this intervention include members of the executive cabinet, civil servants, health workers, temporary staff, members of special committees, and other political officeholders. Apatira urged all staff to actively promote the administration’s programmes and policies in their respective roles.



Speaking on the initiative, Apatira stated, “This initiative is aimed at promoting efficiency in the workplace. It is also aimed at motivating the council staff and easing the financial and economic burdens on them.” He further emphasised that his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of both staff and constituents, highlighting previous programmes such as free school rides, meals for students, infrastructure development, and various welfare interventions.

Apatira charged all beneficiaries to demonstrate accountability and transparency in their roles and to actively support the administration’s policies.
