Lady Tritons lose opener in volleyball league

The University of Guam Lady Tritons lost their opening match in the Lady Triton Volleyball League on Wednesday night 3-0 to Au Mana in the UOG Calvo Field House. The Lady Bombers took their record in the league to 2-0 with a win over Guam Pro 2 on Wednesday night as well. In the opener, the Lady Tritons playing with only two players from the fall team of 2024 looked like a brand-new team playing together for the first time and lost to Au Mana, a two-time champion of the Triton League 25-9 in the first set.

The Lady Tritons got better as the match went on and lost the second set 25-17 and the Lady Tritons played about the same in the third set, and lost 25-18, but the Tritons went up in the final set 11-10 before they lost the set. UOG is 0-1 in the league and Au Mana is now 1-0. The night cap, the Lady Bombers won easily over Guam Pro 2 in a 3-0 match as well.



The first set was the best set, as the Bombers won the first set 25-15 and then closed out the match with 25-11 wins in the second and third sets. The Lady Bombers are 2-0 in the Triton League and Guam Pro 2 is 0-2. The Lady Triton Volleyball League returns to action on Sunday, April 6 with 3 matches: All matches in the Lady Tritons Volleyball League are played in the UOG Calvo Field House.
