MANILA, Philippines — The FEU Lady Tamaraws booted the Ateneo Blue Eagles from Final Four contention and inched closer to a semifinal berth in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament with a 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13 win at the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday.Gerzel Petallo uncorked 11 points laced with 14 excellent receptions and 12 digs to lead FEU, which elevated to 8-4 and is just one win away from securing its place in the Final Four.Ateneo dropped to 4-8 and could not make the top four even if it wins its last two elimination round games since the fourth running UST has seven wins already.Faida Bakanke added 19 points and four digs as Chen Tagaod racked up 12 points, 13 excellent receptions, and five digs in FEU's second straight win.AC Miner smashed 17 points and logged eight digs for the Blue Eagles, who missed the Final Four for the third straight season.
