MANILA, Philippines — The Adamson Lady Falcons stayed in UAAP Season 87 women's Final Four contention with a 25-23, 15-25, 28-26, 25-22 win over an Alyssa Solomon-less NU Lady Bulldogs at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday. Solomon is apparently nursing an injury. Shaina Nitura came through with her fourth 30 plus point-game as she fired 32 on 30 attacks and two blocks for Adamson, which elevated to 4-7 to tie Ateneo in sixth place.
Nitura added 10 digs and six receptions for the Lady Falcons, who will stay in semis contention as long as at least one in FEU (7-4) and UST (7-4) remain with just seven wins. If both the Lady Tamaraws and the Golden Tigresses clinch eight wins, the Lady Falcons would be booted out already. Frances Mordi racked up eight points for Adamson which beat NU for the first time since Season 81 first round back in 2019.
Reigning MVP Bella Belen smashed 19 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who are bound for the Final Four but dropped to 9-2, still at the top of the standings..
