La Brea Industrial Development Company Ltd (LABIDCO) has executed an agreement with Novo Farms Ltd, making it the newest tenant on the La Brea Industrial Estate. This partnership underscores LABIDCO’s commitment to diversifying the Estate and supporting the growth of Trinidad and Tobago’s manufacturing sector, a media release stated on Wednesday. Novo Farms Ltd, a division of Novo International, is a leading agro-processing and food manufacturing company within the Caricom region.

The company plans to construct a state-of-the-art food terminal with storage and primary processing facility on the Estate, designed to support the agricultural sector, strengthen local and regional food security, and facilitate the export of value-added products from Trinidad and Tobago to regional and global markets via the Port of Brighton, the release said. Glen Ramdhani, executive chairman of Novo Group, highlighted the value of LABIDCO’s strategic location, noting that its proximity to key markets across Caricom, including Guyana and Suriname, will greatly enhance Novo’s ability to efficiently access and export agricultural commodities as well as finished manufactured products to meet the demands of local and regional markets.

Through this partnership, LABIDCO and Novo Farms said they looked forward to driving economic growth, supporting the local agricultural supply chain, and expanding Trinidad and Tobago’s role in Caricom’s food security initiatives..
