Popular entertainment personality LA Lewis left his mark on day two of the 20th staging of the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s (JSE) Investment and Capital Markets Conference on Wednesday, providing insight into how he maintains the currency of his brand. The entertainer, who styles himself the Seven Star General and more recently the Maroon Emperor, secured an interview with conference television, CBX, the broadcast arm of the JSE. Lewis was decked out in white with a golden crown and gold overlays.

The interview, which started out lightheartedly, quickly turned quite serious when the interviewer probed the entertainer on how he has managed to remain relevant and secure more followers than industry titans spending millions of dollars on advertising Lewis said he takes brand identity very seriously and that he is constantly adjusting his brand to take account of the changes he notices in Jamaican society, hence the evolution from Seven Star General to Maroon Emperor. - Neville Graham Follow The Gleaner on X and Instagram @JamaicaGleaner and on Facebook @GleanerJamaica.
