On Day 12, the action-packed thriller added more to its kitty, showing strong momentum even in its second week. L2 Empuraan was released in theatres on March 27 and held its own despite the competition from Sikandar.
According to trade reports, L2: Empuraan earned an estimated Rs 1.75 crore net on Monday, pushing its total collection in India to Rs 100.10 crore.
While the numbers have seen a dip compared to its strong first week, the film is still holding up well in its second week. The sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer, L2: Empuraan, has taken the box office by storm — becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever with over Rs 250 crore worldwide. The film opened with an impressive Rs 21 crore net in India and wrapped up its first week with Rs 88.

In total, 2 minutes and 8 seconds were chopped from the original version. In L2: Empuraan, Mohanlal reprises his iconic role as Stephen Nedumpally, aka Khureshi Ab’raam. This time, with the help of Zayed (Prithviraj Sukumaran), he makes a powerful return from overseas, setting his sights back home.
