Kym Marsh revealed her phone was stolen out of her hands in a terrifying ordeal in London two weeks ago. The 48-year-old star was on Buckingham Palace Road at 9.30pm when the incident happened.

She said she barely took her phone out of her pocket before it was ripped from her hands. Kym said she was left feeling 'really vulnerable' and 'shaken' by the incident, which she shared on Morning Live. Speaking to her co-host Gethin Jones on the BBC programme on Monday, she said: "It is quite a scary thing to happen to you, you're walking down a road and then all of a sudden something's taken out of your hand.

And that was about a fortnight ago that was taken from me. But thankfully I was okay." In a clip made for Morning Live, she went on to say the phone was stolen within 'seconds' of getting it out of her pocket.

Kym said: "I felt really vulnerable, I was really shaken. I immediately wanted to get help but, of course, it's not so easy when you don't have your phone." Kym said she was heartbroken to lose all the messages her father sent to her before his death.

She said: "I’ve now lost messages that my dad sent me and things I can never get back. It’s that emotional side of it." Kym's dad, David , died in January 2024 after a battle with prostate cancer.

Compare the Market’s figures recently revealed 70,137 phones were stolen in London in 2024 – which is 1,349 phone every week. In 2023, 52,428 phones were stolen. The Met stated almost 40% of phone thefts happen in Westminster and the West End.

Kym's dad David Marsh died in January last year, almost three years after being diagnosed with cancer. The former Coronation Street star previously said the loss left her "heartbroken" as her spokesperson issued a statement saying: "It is with immense sadness that we confirm the passing of David Marsh. "A much loved husband, dad, grandad, great grandad and friend to many, David passed away peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by his family.

We are truly heartbroken and ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time." Kym first shared the upsetting news that her father had been diagnosed with cancer in June 2021. The actress revealed he had put off going for a health check-up during the pandemic.

Sadly, by the time David did see a doctor, the disease had already spread to other parts of his body, including his pelvis and spine. Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads ..
