EL CENTRO – The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce honored KXO Radio as December’s Business of the Month while the station celebrated their 97th anniversary. The recognition was awarded on Friday, December 13. Since its founding in 1927, KXO has been a cornerstone of the community, delivering reliable news, entertainment, and emergency broadcasts, the IVRCC said.
From covering local events and airing high school football games to hosting beloved programs like Let’s Talk About It, KXO is more than just a radio station–it’s a legacy that has enriched the Imperial Valley for nearly a century, the Chamber said. The IVRCC especially thanked Betty Tucker of the Kiwanis Club of El Centro for organizing the initiative to surprise Carroll Buckley and the KXO team. “We are also grateful to everyone who joined in making this milestone celebration truly special–and for helping us keep it a surprise!” the IVRCC said.
