Kunal Kamra Throws Shades At Bhavish Aggarwal For Hiring Bouncers At Ola Service Centres; ‘Such An Innovative Product’

Bouncers to tackle complaining customers? 👀

The Ola Electric fire continues to rage weeks after the online mudsling fest that triggered after stand up comic Kunal Kamra asked CEO Bhavish Aggarwal whether ‘Indian consumers have a voice?’ Kamra highlighted the state of affairs of Ola service centers that looked like a dumpyard for the abandoned EV bikes of users who have been eternally waiting for repairs or refunds. While Aggarwal rudely responded to the jibe, Ola Electric soon came under the radar of regulatory bodies even as CCPA issued show cause notice after over 10,000 complaints in a year, and consequently the sinking stocks. The company later hired EY to streamline its processes and help resolve the crisis.

EY itself is under fire for a toxic work environment after the death of a young employee by cardiac arrest reportedly due to overwork at its Pune office (more details here ). Amid the debacle, Ola Electric has allegedly hired bouncers at its service centers to tackle customers. A handful of netizens posted on X/Twitter that the desi EV company had deployed muscles at its service centers (that eerily looked like shady godowns from a true crime series).

Kunal Kamra took a jibe at the reports tagging Bhavish Aggarwal, stating, “You’ve sold such an innovative Indian product you’ve had to hire bouncers to protect the staff.” Hey @bhash You’ve sold such an innovative indian product you’ve had to hire bouncers to protect the staff..

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) too took cognizance of the ongoing fiasco at the EV company. The MHI asked Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to verify if the Bhavish Aggarwal company was complying by fulfilling warranty obligations and maintaining its service centers as per protocols.
