KT has demonstrated its global design competitiveness by winning all three of the world's top design awards with its AI-based 8K set-top box, the Genie TV Set-Top Box 4. On April 9, KT announced that its Genie TV Set-Top Box 4 received the prestigious award in the Product Design category at the 2025 Red Dot Design Award. This recognition follows its previous wins at the 2024 Japan Good Design Award and the 2025 iF Design Award, achieving the status of a "triple crown" in design awards.

The Genie TV Set-Top Box 4 is a flagship outcome of KT's design innovation strategy, the "Vibrant Project." This initiative focuses on developing customized designs that take into account users' lifestyles and environments, moving beyond mere aesthetic improvements. Earlier products, including the "Hi-Order 2" and "KT WiFi 7D," were also designed under this project.

During the initial design planning phase, KT paid close attention to users' actual inconveniences. Research revealed that many customers felt the existing set-top box designs did not blend well with their living room decor. In response, KT moved away from the typical black cylindrical set-top box and opted for a simple, square shape reminiscent of speakers.

Particularly, the front panel can be customized with various materials and styles according to users' preferences, enhancing its harmony with interior design. Son Jung-yeop, head of KT's Device Business Division, stated, "This award recognizes KT's commitment to quality and design innovation on a global stage.".
