, South Korea’s major telecommunications company, said Tuesday it has completed a joint project to create a large language model (LLM) for the Thai language. The project was carried out in partnership with Jasmine Technology Solutions (JTS), an information technology (IT) arm of Thailand’s tech giant Jasmine Group, signed in March last year, according to KT. As part of the initiative, KT has also developed an operational management system for the LLM, called LLM Ops, and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, GPU Farm.
South Korea’s AI startup Upstage also participated in the development project. The new LLM, which supports Thai, English and Korean, is capable of answering questions related to Thai politics, history and culture. KT said it plans to continue working with its Thai partner to enhance the AI platform, expand and maintain the GPU infrastructure and develop additional AI services.
The company expects the Thai project to serve as a springboard for expanding its AI business into other global markets. (Yonhap).
