
By Park Jae-hyuk The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appointed Marie Antonia von Schonburg as its next CEO and president, it said Monday. Her inauguration is scheduled to take place on Tuesday. Marie Antonia von Schonburg Von Schonburg has more than two decades of experience in international business relations, working to strengthen collaboration between German and foreign enterprises.
Before joining the chamber, she served as chief delegate at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka. She previously worked as head of the Barcelona delegation and as deputy director overseeing membership and events at the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain. An expert in public relations and membership management, von Schonburg holds a business administration degree from the University of Passau in Germany and studied international marketing at University College Dublin in Ireland.
She earned her MBA from ThePower Business School in 2022. “I am honored to lead KGCCI,” von Schonburg said. “As a bridge between German and Korean businesses, KGCCI plays a crucial role in fostering economic collaboration and innovation.
I look forward to working with our members and partners to drive new initiatives and strengthen our impact in both markets.” KGCCI Chairperson Park Hyun-nam welcomed the appointment. “Von Schonburg’s extensive experience and strategic vision will be invaluable as we continue to deepen ties between Korea and Germany, drive innovation and support our members in an ever-evolving business landscape,” Park said.
