On December 3, KST, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol abruptly declared martial law, jolting the nation into a state of panic. After hours of resistance against armed forces who tried to take control of the National Assembly, citizens and opposition politicians were able to force him into withdrawing the decision only six hours later. While this failed coup attempt has left the world baffled, Yoon’s actual plans were allegedly much more diabolical.

On Friday, December 13, political broadcaster Kim Eo Jun testified before the National Assembly that he had received a tip about an assassination plot targeting Han Dong Hoon , the leader of the conservative People Power Party (PPP) on December 3. Kim, a progressive political broadcaster with 1.84 million subscribers on YouTube , appeared as a witness during a session of the Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee.

In his testimony, Kim mentioned receiving multiple tips, including an assassination squad being activated and a biochemical attack. He passed both of them on to lawmaker Kim Byung Joo from the Democratic Party. The broadcaster clarified that he hadn’t been able to verify all the facts regarding the tips and proceeded to state them as he allegedly received them.

Kim claimed that the plan was to assassinate Han Dong Hoon and attribute it to North Korea while rescuing opposition leaders to make it look like they were in cahoots with North Korea. First, Han Dong Hoon is to be assassinated during transportation after his arrest..

.Second, flee after attacking the arrest unit, escorting Cho Kuk, Yang Jeong Cheol, and myself, pretending to rescue them..

. Third, North Korean military uniforms will be buried at a specific location..

. Fourth, after some time, the uniforms will be discovered, and the incident will be attributed to North Korea. — Kim testifying about the alleged plan “ To elaborate, the assassination of Han Dong Hoon is meant to be attributed to North Korea, as he is a ruling party representative,” Kim said, adding that the purpose of rescuing Cho Kuk, Yang Jung Chul, and himself was to frame them as pro-North Korean figures who received help from North Korea.

Kim also mentioned additional reports about plans to kill a few US soldiers to provoke America to act against North Korea. Acknowledging that his testimony sounded like a made-up story, Kim also partially revealed the source of his tip. According to him, those tips came from an ally nation with an embassy in South Korea.

Kim Eo Jun also mentioned First Lady Kim Keon Hee , claiming that she is seemingly contacting retired agents urgently . He admitted that he had no clue what these calls were about but urged the authorities to look into the matter, given that her husband, the President, is the commander in chief. Kim stated that President Yoon’s recent address, in which he affirmed that he would “ fight until the end,” was the trigger that made him come forward and testify about a story that he otherwise would have dismissed.

To use the exact wording, it was said that Mrs. Kim Keon Hee believed, and still believes, [Yoon] would become a unification president following martial law and constitutional revision..

.After hearing Yoon Suk Yeol’s determination to ‘fight to the end’ in his address yesterday, I judged that, if there is even a slight possibility of risk to our community, it should be disclosed, even if the information is incomplete. That is why I am here.

— Kim testifying about the alleged plan Kim concluded his testimony saying that Yoon’s authority as the commander in chief should be revoked as soon as possible. The broadcaster had previously mentioned in a Reuters interview that he feared for his life the day martial law was announced and had gone into hiding. According to reports, on the night of December 3, his studio had been surrounded by 20 soldiers.

Kim Eo Jun’s testimony has gone viral on X (former Twitter ), leaving international netizens with a chill down their spine.
